We use a hand scraper to remove paint from the interior face of the parting bead as well as the interior-facing side of the blind stop. Note: we discourage the use of power sanders when dealing with lead-containing paint as they produce large quantities of dust. |

We lower the upper sash in preparation for removal. |

Once the upper sash is lowered we remove the parting bead.
|
|
Starting at the top it is pulled out of its groove . . .
|

and then pulled out in an upward direction . |
